We get asked almost every week whether we can sort a leak, move a radiator, swap a boiler or fit air conditioning. We are electricians, so the honest answer is no, not us. What we can do is put you straight on to the people we work beside on site: James Plumbing & Heating.
They are Gas Safe registered, F-Gas registered for air conditioning, and they cover the same streets we do across West London, South West London and into Surrey. When a job needs both trades, we book around each other so you are not chasing two diaries.
Everything on this page is their work. They quote it, they carry it out, they certify it and they invoice you directly. Nothing is added on our side.
Plumbing
Leaks, burst pipes, taps and showers, toilets and cisterns, bathroom and kitchen pipework, stopcocks and pressure problems. They run a 24 hour call-out for the jobs that will not wait, which is usually the reason people ring us about water in the first place.

Heating & Boilers
Boiler replacements and new installs, full central heating systems, radiators, smart controls, power flushing and annual servicing. They are accredited installers for Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal and Glow-worm, so the manufacturer warranty is the long one rather than the short one.
Landlord gas paperwork sits with them too. Between their CP12 and our EICR, a rental property has both certificates it needs from two people who already talk to each other.

Air Conditioning
Wall mounted split systems, multi-split setups for a few rooms at once, and servicing or regassing of units already fitted. Home offices, loft conversions and south facing extensions are the three we hear about most, usually in July.
Air conditioning is the job where the two trades meet most obviously. They handle the refrigerant side under their F-Gas registration. If the unit needs its own supply, an isolator or a new circuit at the board, that part is ours and we certify it.

Refrigerant work is regulated. It has to be done by a registered engineer, which is them.

Their side: siting the indoor and outdoor units, refrigerant pipework, the condensate drain, vacuum, charge and commissioning, plus the F-Gas paperwork.
Our side: a dedicated circuit from the board, the isolator, containment, and the installation certificate for the electrical work.
One visit each, booked around the other, so the unit is running that week rather than waiting on a spare socket.
And now drainage
Blocked sinks, slow showers, gullies and outside drains are the newest addition to what the plumbing side covers, running as James Drainage. Same team, same number, jetting and clearing rather than a wait for someone you have never met.

- Bathrooms and wet roomsPipework, sanitaryware and waste on their side. We take the lighting, the extractor, the shaver socket and any heated floor connection, then test and certify what we have wired.
- Kitchen refitsSinks, appliance feeds and waste on their side. Sockets, hob and cooker circuits and lighting on ours, sequenced so nobody is stood waiting.
- Boiler swapsThey fit and commission the boiler. If the fused spur, controls wiring or the board needs sorting first, that is us, certified in the same week.
- Air conditioning installsThey run the refrigerant pipework and commission the system. We provide the dedicated supply and isolator it needs.

Common questions
Do James Electrical Services do plumbing now?
No. We are an electrical contractor and that is all we do. Plumbing, gas, heating, air conditioning and drainage are carried out by James Plumbing & Heating, a separate business with its own registrations.
Is it one company or two?
Two. James Electrical Services Ltd and James Plumbing and Heating Limited are separate companies that work together regularly. You get one quote from each for the part of the job that belongs to them.
Do I get one bill or two?
Two, one from each company, each covering its own work. We do not add anything to their price and they do not add anything to ours.
Can both trades come the same day?
Usually yes, if the job needs it. Tell whoever you speak to first that both trades are involved and the visits get booked around each other.
